No. 2 : New York City, New York
No. 3 : Sydney, Australia
No. 4 : Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
No. 5 : Paris, France
No. 6 : Dubai, UAE

No. 8 : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
No. 9 : Shanghai, China
No. 10 : Moscow, Russia

The highlight about KL in their list:

8. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
There's something particularly majestic about Kuala Lumpur's defining skyscrapers, the Petronas Towers. Malaysia Truly Asia, as the tourism board's tagline goes, is a wonder of multiculturalism, awe-inspiring landscapes and white-sand islands (our picks are Langkawi and Borneo). But Kuala Lumpur, one of the fastest growing cities in the area, quickly gives visitors a faster paced perspective on the country. The Petronas and Kuala Lumpur towers both illuminate each evening, providing a taste of what's to come in this cultural mecca.

So, jangan pandang rendah tempat sendiri. Ibu kota kita pun tak kurang hebatnya.  Be proud of our city & country.  Cheers!!!

- Devin Alexander,

INGREDIENTS
For the frosting:

1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons reduced-fat Neufchâtel
3 tablespoons light butter from a stick, softened
1/2 tablespoon fat-free milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the buns:
Butter-flavored cooking spray
2 tablespoons light butter from a stick
1 cup fat-free milk
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup artificially sweetened fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 egg
1 egg white
One 1/4-ounce packet active dry yeast
4 cups unbleached flour, plus more as needed
1 teaspoon plus 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons corn syrup
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
For the frosting:

In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, Neufchâtel, butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix on low speed with an electric mixer fitted with beaters or stir with a spoon until combined, about 1 minute. If using a mixer, increase the speed to high.

Beat or stir vigorously until smooth, about 30 seconds. Allow the frosting to set for at least 10 minutes. Place in an airtight plastic container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days. Just before using, stir well with a spoon.

For the buns:
Lightly mist a large bowl with cooking spray. Set aside 1 tablespoon of the butter to soften.

In a large microwavable measuring cup or a medium-sized microwavable bowl, combine the milk, granulated sugar, and the remaining butter. Microwave on high power until the milk is hot (130 degrees), 2 minutes.

Add the yogurt. Whisk until the sugar dissolves (some small lumps of yogurt may be visible). Add the egg and egg white. Whisk to beat well. Add the yeast. Whisk until dissolved.

In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the dough hook or in a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of the flour, 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, and the salt.

Mix or stir by hand with a wooden spoon to blend. Add the milk mixture. Mix on medium power or stir vigorously to blend. (The mixture will be very sticky.) Add the remaining flour, mixing or stirring until absorbed.

Lightly flour a work surface. Turn the dough onto the work surface. (A plastic dough scraper or brittle plastic spatula is helpful for getting out all of the dough and starting the kneading.)

Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Add scant amounts of flour as needed. (The dough should be soft but not sticky.) Place in the reserved bowl. Lightly mist with cooking spray. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap. Allow to rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the corn syrup, brown sugar, the remaining cinnamon, and the vanilla extract. Stir to blend well. Set aside.

When the dough has doubled in size, gently punch it down and place it on the lightly floured surface. Knead for about 1 minute. Dust lightly with flour. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.

Lightly mist an 11-by-7-inch nonstick baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside. Using your hands or a floured rolling pin, press or roll the dough into an 18-by-12-inch rectangle.

With a butter knife, evenly spread the softened butter over the dough. Drizzle on the filling. With a knife or spatula, spread it evenly to the edges. Starting at one shorter side, roll the dough, jelly-roll fashion, into a tube, ending seam side down. Cut into 8 equal pieces. Place, spiral side up, in the reserved dish.

Cover the dish with a damp kitchen towel and place in a warm spot. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Bake until very lightly browned but slightly doughy in the center, 22-28 minutes. With a spatula, transfer 1 roll to a plate. Using a butter knife, spread 1 ½ tablespoons of frosting over the top and ½ tablespoon down the sides. Repeat with the other 7 rolls.

6 Perkara Yang Allah Sembunyikan

6 perkara Allah sembunyikan

Setelah selesai Jibrail as solat, maka Allah SWT berfirman yang bermaksud.

Taliban vowed to kill 14 years old Malala if she survived

LONDON (Reuters) - Two people wanting to visit the Pakistani girl wounded by Taliban gunmen raised suspicion in Britain on Tuesday after turning up overnight at the hospital where she is undergoing treatment, the hospital and police said.

Authorities are highly sensitive about Malala Yousufzai's security because the Taliban, who targeted her for advocating education for girls, say they would again try to kill the 14-year-old if she survived last week's attack.

Yousufzai was flown from Pakistan to Birmingham to receive specialist treatment after the shooting, which drew widespread condemnation. She has become a potent symbol of resistance to the radical Islamist group's effort to deny women an education.

"A number of people turned up claiming to be members of Malala's family which we don't believe to be true," Dave Rosser, the hospital's medical director, told Britain's Sky News. "They didn't get very far. Security is well under control."

Police said two people came to the hospital overnight wishing to see her but were questioned and turned away.

"They were stopped in a public area of the hospital and questioned by police, who recorded their details and advised the pair that they would not be allowed to see her," West Midlands Police said in a statement, describing them as "well-wishers".

There are a large number of Asian Muslims in Birmingham's population. The Pakistani diaspora in Britain is estimated to number 1.2 million.

Yousufzai has been in critical condition since gunmen shot her in the head and neck as she left school in Swat, northwest of Islamabad.

In Pakistan, Taliban insurgents said on Tuesday she deserved to die because she had spoken out against their group and praised U.S. President Barack Obama.

British doctors have said Yousufzai has every chance of making a "good recovery" at a special hospital unit expert in dealing with complex trauma cases. It has treated hundreds of soldiers wounded in Afghanistan.

"It's obvious that Malala will need reconstructive surgery. We have international experts in that field," Rosser said, adding that she had had a comfortable night on Monday and that doctors are pleased with her progress.

Yousufzai began standing up to the Pakistani Taliban when she was 11, when the Islamabad government had effectively ceded control of the Swat Valley where she lives to the militants.
The attack was the culmination of years of campaigning that had pitted the girl against one of Pakistan's most ruthless Taliban commanders, Maulana Fazlullah.

Speed up your metabolism - Easy way

Ways to Speed up Metabolism

1. Keep Hydrated I'm sure the general population thinks dietician sound like a broken record when it comes to the whole water thing, but it really is important. Drinking the recommended eight cups of water a day will help your body function at peak performance levels.

2. Keep Calcium Levels Up Current obesity research shows that a dip in calcium levels can trigger the same hormone that causes the body to hold onto fat to be released. Choose low-fat dairy, cheese, yogurt, salmon, tofu, and oatmeal.

3. Ditch the Drinks
Happy hours and late night cocktails can do a number on your metabolism the next day. Research shows that the day after a night of drinking, there is a significant dip in your metabolic rate. Combine this with hangover cravings, and you've got a double disaster.

4. Eat Constantly Snacking does not have to be a bad thing. If your stomach is growling, it means that you need more fuel. Not providing your body with food is a surefire way to slow down its basic functions. Choose high-fiber, high-protein snacks like low-fat cheese, fiber crackers, fruits, veggies, or Greek yogurt. Starving your body will sabotage all of your dieting efforts.

5. De-stress Yourself Stress raises the amount of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is a hormone that tells the body to hold onto fat in case of a stressful situation (think more natural disaster-level stress, not a bad day at work-level). Experiment with yoga or meditation as ways to lower stress levels and clear your mind.

6. Decrease Diet Soda Although it's low in calories and seems like an easy swap for high calorie beverages, diet soda may actually have adverse effects on your metabolism. Water and seltzer are better options, but if you must drink diet soda, limit your consumption to two cans (not Big Gulps!) per week.

7. Don't Forget Your ZZZ's Getting a least seven to eight hours of sleep every night is crucial to a healthy metabolism. Anything less can adversely affect your body's ability to burn calories. Surprisingly, excess sleep may do the same thing. It's best to keep a consistent bedtime and wake up close to the same time every morning

8. Soak Up the Sun Research shows that when a person spends long periods of time in a darkened, dull environment, it stimulates the same physiological functions in the body as gaining weight and sleep. The best daylight hours are between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., so make it a point to get up from your desk and take a brisk walk outside. Aside from soaking up rays, you'll rev up your heart rate and benefit from the fresh air.

9. Work Out in the Cold Doing any type of cardio exercise in the cold can increase the ability of brown fat in the body to work at maximum capacity. Newly published research indicates that brown fat helps efficiently burn the white fat in your body, which is the considered that "bad fat."

10. Drink Kombucha Tea This tea, which is made from the Kombucha black mushroom, has racked up accolades in almost every health area-claims range from easing arthritis to detoxifying the liver. The detoxifying nature of this beverage may help your body function at an optimal level, which means a healthy metabolism.

11. Increase Weight-Bearing Exercises One pound of muscle burns 35 to 50 calories, while one pound of fat burns a measly 5 to 10 calories. Increasing your muscle mass can increase your body's basal metabolic rate (BMR) by up to 40%. There's no need to hit the weights hard, either, simply using light weights at high repetition has been proven to tone muscle and burn fat.

12. Up Your Vitamin C Vitamin C and calcium are partners in crime when it comes to your metabolic rate. Calcium speeds up metabolism, while vitamin C helps the body absorb this mineral, creating an overall win-win situation.

13. Vitamin B is Key Getting in all over your vitamin B, which you can do by incorporating small amounts of nuts, seeds, lean chicken, beef, and fish into your diet, helps maintain a healthy metabolism. Legumes are also a great source of B vitamins; plus they're chock-full of fiber.

14. Drink Green Tea The polyphenols, specifically EGCG, in green tea have properties that rev up your metabolic rate. However, green tea takes dedication. You have to drink about 4 to 5 cups a day to see results.

15. Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup It's one of the most controversial issues in nutrition: Studies show that HFCS can make the body insulin-resistant. Also, when given the choice, the body stores fructose as fat before it does glucose.

16. Try Interval Training Aside from curing workout boredom, interval training allows you to burn more calories in less time. This is a great way for busy people with less time to get in a maximum workout.

Dangerous Drink-and-Drug Interactions

Dangerous Drink-and-Drug Interactions
Molly Raisch
Friday, October 12, 2012

Before you wash down medication with just any beverage, watch out; common drinks, from fruit juice to coffee, can lessen the effectiveness of certain drugs as well as pose serious health threats when combined with some prescriptions. Medical toxicologist Lesile Dye, MD, FACMT outlined the top alarming combos.

Grapefruit juice negatively interacts with more than 50 medications, including statins. Because the effects of the citrus juice last more than 24 hours, simply taking your meds at a different time won't solve the problem.

An enzyme found in pomegranate juice can break down several blood pressure prescriptions.

Calcium can interfere with the effectiveness of thyroid medication. Wait at least 4 hours after dosage to drink any calcium-rich beverages.

Caffeine can pose a serious health threat when taken with stimulants. Avoid a cup of joe when taking ephedrine (appetite suppressants), asthma prescriptions, and amphetamines (such as Adderall).

The potassium in sports drinks can be dangerous when coupled with some heart failure or hypertension drugs. Bananas are also very rich in potassium.

Skip the dinnertime glass of wine when taking antidepressents; the combo can cause hypertension, headaches, fast heart rate, and stroke. The same goes for energy drinks.

Vitamin K, also found in broccoli and kale, can decrease the effect of blood thinners such as coumarin or warfarin.

Careful with what you consume while taking medication.

Best Apple Pie

The Best Apple Pie

Five and a half pounds of three kinds of apples go inside a flaky, buttery pate-brisee crust to make one showstopping pie.

• Makes one 9-inch pie

Ingredients
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling
Deep-Dish Pate Brisee or store bought pie crust, dividied into two pieces, one larger for covering the pie.
• 5 1/2 pounds firm tart apples (about 14), such as Empire or Granny Smith
• Juice of 2 lemons
• 1 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 3 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
• 1 large egg yolk

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out a smaller piece of pate brisee into a 15-inch round about 1/8-inch thick, dusting surface with flour to prevent sticking, as needed. Brush off excess flour. Roll dough around rolling pin, and place over a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate. Line plate with dough, pressing it into the corners. Trim dough to within 1 inch of the pie plate. Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate.

2. Roll out remaining piece of dough into an 18-inch round. Transfer round to a baking sheet; cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate.

3. Peel and core apples, and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Place slices in a large bowl; sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent discoloration. In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon; toss with apple slices.

4. Remove remaining dough from refrigerator; place apple mixture in prepared pie plate, mounding it in a tall pile. Dot apples with butter. Place dough round over apples. Tuck edge of top dough between edge of bottom dough and rim of pan. Using your fingers, gently press both layers of dough along the edge to seal, and crimp as desired.

5. Using a paring knife, cut several vents in top of dough to allow steam to escape. In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolk with 2 tablespoons water to make a glaze. Brush surface with egg glaze; sprinkle with sugar. Place on a baking sheet (this will catch any juices that may overflow during baking). Bake until crust is golden, about 15 minutes.

6. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking until crust is golden brown and juices are bubbling, 45 to 50 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool completely before serving.

Variations

In "Martha Bakes," the cooking time for this pie was 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes.

Be Productive like Ginger

Be like Ginger, the model citizen

The government says we have to work as long as we live, be productive and adaptable to the changing needs of the country and the world. Makansutra finds a model citizen, in the spice world.
Be like Ginger, the model citizenGinger
Age doesn’t matter
The older it gets, the more useful it becomes. Old ginger, harvested in its 10th month, is pungent, spicy and invigorating. The Chinese juliennes it and uses it to mask fishiness in seafood, stir-fry meats and vegetables, and add in soups; the Malays and Indians blends it to intensify the flavours of curried dishes, marinate meats and to make chutneys.
Young ginger, harvested early in the fourth month, has less confrontational pungent and spicy notes. It is used to make pickles, which is served between dishes of sushi to cleanse the palate.
A global ingredient
Ginger, grown in China and India since ancient times, and believed to be taken to Europe by Arab traders during the spice trade days, is probably the first “global citizen”, even before there was such a term. In every of its home and adopted country, it “gave back” by turning the local drinks into internationally popular beverages – Southeast Asia’s teh halia, India’s masala chia, China’s brown sugar ginger tea, and European’s ginger ale and ginger beer.
Highly adaptable
Despite its distinctive spicy zing with citrusy hints, ginger is a choice ingredient across a meal. For salads – ginger and sesame dressing, main dishes – Hyderabadi ginger chicken, desserts – ginger milk curd, snacks – ginger bread and biscuits, sweets – candied ginger, and drinks – as mentioned above.
Multihypenate
It is food, as well as medicine, killing two birds with one stone. Jamu (Indonesian Traditional Medicine), Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda (health system originated in India) believe that it helps dispel wind, relief nausea and cold. It is also believed to possess aphrodisiac qualities and even Karma Sutra praises its ability to bring success in “love”.
Now, who can beat ginger in productivity?
